5 Reasons to Love Firefox
May 29, 2008 – 10:16 amEveryone has the big debate over which web browser program is the best or the fastest. We are not biased with choosing a particular web browser but we would like to share 5 reasons that computer users should love Firefox 3 (beta) if this happens to be their choice of a web browser.
Firefox has the new Firefox version 3 available for download and we would like to highlight 5 reasons to love it.
1. Better Performance
If you liked using the previous versions of Firefox because of the speed of loading web pages and accessing information online then this new one will not disappoint you. The newest version of Firefox seems to manage memory a bit better along with speeding up the over-all usability of the browser. When you view web pages that are very graphic intensive there is not much of a noticeable slowdown especially when utilizing a fairly new PC running Windows XP and 1 gig of RAM. With the number of add-ons available for Firefox, you do not want to start off with a slow platform before anything is installed to assist Firefox with additional functions.
2. Improved Security
Spyware, phishing and malware is out to get us all in this day and age. Running the latest version of security software sometimes is not enough to protect yourself from the latest internet threats. Your web browser must have some line of defense and Firefox 3 has improved warnings and security checks to create your first line of defense against internet threats. If you ever run into a suspicious or actual phishing website in Firefox it will cleverly warn you of the current site being a Report Attack Site. The message includes a way of redirecting you back to a safe page preferably the Firefox start page. You can always choose to ignore the warning and continue browsing on the suspicious site but you may want to be ready to pay for the consequences.
3. Improved Bookmarking System
We all love to bookmark or what some Internet Explorer users call it, create a favorite. What better way to store your bookmarks than in an actual database. This means you do not have to waste your time organizing your bookmarks like you do in IE or older versions of Firefox. When a page is bookmarked it will automatically populate the proper category according to it’s criteria. You gotta love that!
4. Page Zooming – Zooms the Whole Page
Before Firefox 3 beta we had to Zoom text of web pages for better viewing. Now you can zoom the whole page with all graphics and layouts included. Now you can see your favorite image on your favorite website blown up to life-like sizes provided you have a big enough monitor. This means easier reading and pure enjoyment to your precious eyes that stare at the computer screen all day.
5. Improved toolbar – “The Location Bar”
The new Firefox implements a new Location Bar or some may call it the URL address entry bar. The new bar incorporates a dropdown list of items instead of just recently visited web sites. Once you enter text in the field you get a list of options that may include items from websites to Gmail messages that include the typed word in the subject line. Yes, it is that smart. Integration is at an all-time high with the new Firefox 3 (beta).
If you love anything else about Firefox we would love to hear from you. Maybe this will prompt you to try out Firefox or maybe not. Either way, post your comments below.

One Response to “5 Reasons to Love Firefox”
i tried firefox twice an older version years ago & the latest version just a month ago & i still don’t like it’s look & performance so i went back to my IE. when i found out about safari, i tried it w/o doubts and i loved how this worked. it’s fast & i can now open sites that i can’t open w/ just my IE because i mostly use dialup & occasionally w/ wifi.
even though it still has glitches, like plug-ins/sites not capable w/ safari browsers, but hey, whatever, it still work for me even some plug-ins are not available & safari is new so someday, these sites & plug-ins will work somehow. & besides, i still use my IE. sometimes, i use them both like i use my IE when downloading videos/files, realplayerdownload & freedownloadmanager cant work w/ safari. but i use safari to watch the videos/listen to music because IT’S fast.
i like safari w/ or w/o glitches better than firefox.
