I tried to remove superiorads the way it was posted on this page, but it didn’t work for me. In the posting, it says “remove the following infected files, but it doesn’t say WHAT files. Any other suggestions? I don’t want to buy a program just to delete this.

I had the same problem as Penny - what files do step 7 refer to? I also downloaded SmithfraudFix but was alerted to its being a trojan - so deleted it! Any other ideas how to remove superiorads/dcads? By the way, I can find neither of these in Add or Remove Programs - so I don’t seem to have an odd Toolbar - but IE opens up sites by itself.

I have found a site similar to this that says delete this and that file. Stop this and that process. But none of these processes or files appear on my comuter, but I still have this fake crap appearing…
I don’t want to buy software just to remove one virus either. Any ideas?

Ok. An update that might work. Go to Manage Add Ons. Thats where I finally found it. Could only disable it, not get rid of it, but maybe that helps.

Every single person giving removal information for this program is a complete idiot. Everything is generic step-by-step instructions that do not work. I especially like the freakin’ morons who ask people to upload their Hijack This log file, then give generic 320 step instructions that do absolutely nothing. Here’s the real way to stop this scum-of-the-earth program:
First search for any program with DCADS in it’s name, and then delete it. Also, uninstall anything from the Modify/Remove programs list in the Control Panel.
Next, edit the registry value for it by doing the following:
Click on Start->
Click on Search->
Type in Dcads to find dcads programs.->
Then click on Start-> Click on Run->
Type in regedit. Find the Folder called HKEY_Current_User,open the folder up.->
Find another folder within the HKEY_Current_User called ” Software ” open it up.->
Open up a folder called ” Microsoft “->
Find a folder called “dcads”
This is the root of your problem. You can delete it, but it will come right back. What you have to do is delete everything in the folder, then change all the permissions of the registry value (right click, permissions). Uncheck whatever boxes you need to, try to delete all users that have access to it… etc. etc. Basically make it a folder that no one can modify. Then save it this way. The automated program will never be able to modify or use it again. It basically kills it for good.
Nothing else will find it… not McAfee, not Symantec, and especially the poser idiots asking for log files.

Uh, just in case you listen to CJS.
Don’t.
Though he’s very right. His instructions, if followed, delete Microsoft, so, if you’re going to do it, I recommend you back up all your pictures and whatnot and have a Linux distro handy.
