I would not recommend that average person go poking around in the registry. even if you are a pro at least make a back up first. Also if your looking for another Spybot Search and Destroy seemed to get this all. Nothing beats real paid for software. you need live protection and not passive protection anyways.

i just had this one. i think it appeared when i loaded a keygen that i got from fullsoftshar.com. but i don't know. i was also uploading a video in youtube when it happened. when that "system error: "attention! your system is infected..blahblah! download latest antivirus(recommended)"

i didnt think anything when i read that so i Okay-ed. i didnt even read the whole message..silly me.when that fake program fake searched & that system error kept on appearing, this time i read the whole message (why would this kind of message report to personally & my computer also appeared like ATTENTION, SM!) plus when i learned the program needs to be purchased & the spelling of still is STEEL, then i know it's fake. also my windows defender & spybot s&d found this as fake. it's a good thing i stopped the program immediately & let my two loving anti-threats do the work but i also killed this rogue manually before i found you on the net because i was searching how to kill this, but turned out i did kill it before i found you.. so i killed it 3times.

also good thing, i have another internet browser that's not internet explorer which i learned from you that it hacks through internet explorer. so the name is where the fake "IE" anti-threat came (IE is internet explorer, now i figured) however, my spybot found ieantivirus & my windefender found iedefender..so i got two fakes...

thanks.

Wow, This ieav.exe Removal Tool is the most Awesome thing that I have ever seen. Whomever created it, has to be The Best. I had gotten this Ieav.exe Virus on my computer, and spend many hours, trying to research and get it off. I used 3 of the leading Spyware removal tools, with no luck. I even spent hours trying to remove it manually, with no luck. I just happen to run across this PCHubs Site that offered the Smitfraudfix tool, and it worked perfect. You download the software into a folder, Start your computer in SafeMode and install it. After the cleaning process is complete, reboot your computer and you are Back in Business, with no signs of Infection at all. I just want to Thank the Creaters of this Tool, So much for Making My Day so much better. -- Please, anyone with this problem, give this tool. Thanks

I just wanted to say that the SmitFraudFix worked perfectly. I hadn't actually downloaded the IEAntivirus software, so I didn't have a lot of the program pieces to be removed. The SmitFraudFix cleaned up a couple .dll files I had associated and the computer works fine now.
