IEDefender (or IE Defender) Removal Process

IE Defender (or IEDefender) is a rogue anti-spyware program, which is a form of fake malicious software engineered by Internet hackers.

IE Defender is an browser plug-in or browser object that installed within your Internet Explorer browser without your permission, and then hijacks your IE browser to execute malicious code and display false alerts. You will consistently get prompted with pop-ups windows that give you misleading alarms and information. The purpose of these pop-up alerts is to make PC users to purchase IE Defender.

Do NOT purchase IE Defender under any circumstances since it is a fake anti-spyware software.

The following process will help you remove it from your system easily and safely.

IE Defender Manual Removal Process:

1. Click on the Start Menu button, then click on the Control Panel option, and then Double-click on the Add or Remove Programs icon.

2. Locate IE Defender and double-click on it to uninstall IE Defender. Follow the screen step-by-step screen instructions to complete uninstallation of IE Defender.

3. Restart the computer.

4. When it has completed uninstalling you can close Add or Remove Programs and your Control Panel.

5. Close all programs including IE Defender. To close IE Defender, right-click on the IE Defender icon on the lower-right corner, then select “exit”.

7. Delete the following infected files from your system.
mp3avi.dll
alisj.dll
bDivX.dll
IR9V0_QCX.dll
Video32.dll
dx50codec.dll
a3gpcodec.dll
aDivX.dll
mp3avi.dll
IntelVideo.dll
IntelVideoDivX.dll
XunLeiBHO_Now.dll

8. Rename the files that you found above to “foundbadfile1.dll” and “foundbadfile2.dll” (if you can not rename this file, then try to restart your computer in safe mode then try to rename this file.) If you don’t know how to start the computer in safe mode, click here to read more.

9. Go to C:\Program Files\ folder and delete the “IE Defender” folder (if you can’t delete it, reboot your computer to safe mode then delete the folder)

10. Click here to bookmark this page (you will need to comeback to this page after reboot)

11. Restart your computer

12. Go to your computer and delete the “foundbadfile1.dll” and “foundbadfile2.dll” file

13. You have just removed IE Defender from your computer manually.

  3. I can Not take out IEDEFENDER after 2 days of trying everything. It will not let me load any page that has a removal..Help
