Fake anti-spyware programs are lurking all over the Internet looking for potential victims that they could fool into buying their fake anti-spyware programs. As computer users, it is our best weapon to keep ourselves informed of these fake applications in order to keep ourselves protected from being victimized. This is why malware researchers are constantly on the lookout for these rogue anti-spyware applications in order to update us with the latest rogue anti-spyware programs that we must avoid. One of these rogue anti-spyware programs that was recently discovered to be another fake security application is known as Security Guard 2012.

The Mechanism of Security Guard 2012

As with any other rogue anti-spyware program, Security Guard 2012 installs itself without permission to the target computer without the permission of the user. The infection is brought about by a Trojan virus, which is acquired from security vulnerabilities from infected websites and unsafe downloads causing Security Guard 2012 to be installed on your computer. Once your computer reboots, the Security Guard 2012 rogue anti-spyware program automatically starts to do its dirty work by displaying its fake features such as system scans, privacy, firewall, and security. Security Guard 2012 would display fake notifications, pop-up alerts and warnings saying that your computer is infected with several viruses and other malware, but these must not be believed. All these are just tricks to fool the computer user into buying the full version of Security Guard 2012, which is claimed to be able to remove the detected infections.

PCHubs malware researchers have looked closely into this program and have concluded that Security Guard 2012 has no capability at all in detecting and removing any type of malware or virus infection. You should not purchase the full version of Security Guard 2012 as it has no differences from the trial version. Never divulge your credit card information to the Security Guard 2012 website unless you want to end up losing your money.

How to Protect Your Computer from Security Guard 2012

If Security Guard 2012 has already penetrated your computer, the best solution would be to remove it from your computer without delay. Installing a powerful and legitimate anti-spyware program on the infected computer would be needed in order to remove Security Guard 2012. The legitimate anti-spyware program must be updated with the latest signature databases and a complete system scan must be done while the infected computer is in Safe Mode in order to remove Security Guard 2012 from your computer completely.
