System Fix is another rogue system defragmenter application with the purpose of stealing money from unsuspecting computer users. Like its variants HDD Repair and System Restore, System Fix exhibits the same symptoms and pretends to be a legitimate defragmenter application in order to fool computer users into purchasing the full version of their bogus program. Be aware, however, that System Fix has been confirmed by PCHubs malware researchers to be a bogus security application and should never be purchased or else your money would surely be wasted. System Fix has no functionality at all in detecting or removing any kind of infection and must be removed from your computer as soon as possible.

The Dangers of System Fix

System Fix infects your computer through a Trojan which installs the fake application on your PC without your knowledge or permission. Once installed on your computer, System Fix would run every time you reboot your computer automatically, and you are likely to receive several pop-up alerts, warnings, and notifications saying that your computer is infected with several malware. System Fix would then perform a fake system scan showing fabricated results of your computer being infected with several viruses. System Fix would then try to promote its full version by claiming to be able to fix all the detected errors and infections. System Fix would promote that all the detected infections can be cleaned by purchasing their full version of System Fix. Never believe in these promotions as it is just a trick to steal your money.

Apart from the annoying notifications and pop-up alerts, System Fix also makes your computer more vulnerable to remote attacks because of the presence of the Trojan that caused the infection. Trojans compromise your system’s security and can cause some of your files and folders to appear to have disappeared. Rogue defragmenter creators use the scare tactic of having your files appear hidden to scare you even further into purchasing their bogus software. You may also notice that some of your legitimate Windows applications would be blocked from running, and you would also notice that your browser suddenly gets redirected to websites associated with rogue defragmenter or anti-spware programs. The cause of all these problems is the System Fix application and the Trojan that brought it in the first place, so it is strongly advised to remove System Fix from your PC as soon as it is detected.

If you are experiencing the symptoms described above, then it would be best to start the System Fix removal process now. This can safely be done with the use of a legitimate anti-virus application that has been updated with the latest signature database. You would need to restart your computer in Safe Mode, so that System Fix would not run automatically while doing the removal process.

Perform a full system scan of your computer using the updated and legitimate security application, and then you can proceed to remove the detected infections safely. Make sure that all files, folders, processes and registries that are related to System Fix are deleted completely.
