Facexworm is known to use the Facebook messenger to send a message with a video link that if clicked it will load the threat on the computer and start mining cryptocurrency without much of an indication to the computer user.

Facexworm is known to be one of the latest for cryptojacking, which is an action of taking over a computer to perform cryptocurrency mining actions. The activity of Facexworm is known to cause infected systems to perform poorly, run hot, and even crash due to its CPU resources being heavily used for mining cryptocurrency.

  9. Delete all of the following files that are associated with Facexworm from your computer.

    If you have issues deleting any of the previously listed files that are associated with Facexworm, you can try rebooting your computer into safe mode.   10. After locating and deleting the previous files you must remove all directories associated with Facexworm by going to the C:\ProgramFiles\Facexworm folder, select it, and delete it. In some cases you may not be able to find this directory. You can still continue to the next step.

  11. Restart your computer. You do not need to boot into safe mode at this point. You should have removed Facexworm completely from your computer. If you find that Facexworm is still on your computer, you can repeat the steps again or go to the automatic Facexworm removal process.
