My StartPage Removal Process (remove MyStartPage)

My StartPage is a web browser extension that is almost a homage to older potentially unwanted programs that offer search sites and cause questionable site redirects. On the verge of being a redirect virus, My StartPage is touted as being a basic search engine platform through its home page that may automatically load as a default home page or new tab page.

Stopping the unwanted activities of My StartPage will require removal of the My StartPage components or browser extension. Such components may have automatically loaded when installing freeware apps that come bundled with add-on software or browser extensions.   9. Delete all of the following files that are associated with My StartPage from your computer.

    If you have issues deleting any of the previously listed files that are associated with My StartPage, you can try rebooting your computer into safe mode.   10. After locating and deleting the previous files you must remove all directories associated with My StartPage by going to the C:\ProgramFiles\My StartPage folder, select it, and delete it. In some cases you may not be able to find this directory. You can still continue to the next step.

  11. Restart your computer. You do not need to boot into safe mode at this point. You should have removed My StartPage completely from your computer. If you find that My StartPage is still on your computer, you can repeat the steps again or go to the automatic My StartPage removal process.
